Just random

We had a day in town today starting with the doctor for me at 8.30am. I had to have a biopsy on a spot on my hand and I had a grand total of .....one (1) yes one (1) stitch. It's really hurting now but because The Hubbster has a stainless steel pin through his toe and numerous stitches running down the side of his foot, who am I to complain about the pain of one (1) stitch.

I am a suck at medical stuff and pain now, conveniently forgetting the fact that I have had 3 children, all with natural childbirth and no drugs, but with stitches in my who haa that apparently disolved at some point. I coped with that but am now needing a wine to combat this one (yes one) stitch. Apologies to my one and only Male Reader for too much information about my girly bits.

We then (along with my numb hand) went to the park and joined the other ladies from my mothers group in a playdate. I love my mothers group. We have been together for 9 years and try to catch up in the holidays. We now have alot of kids between us. So when we went to McDonalds for lunch, they saw us coming and put extra burgers on....joke.

Now Miss D and Mr C are having a sleepover at their Nanny and Poppys house, so it's very quite. I really miss them, although they are all fighting like crazy now the school holidays are nearly over. We have been so busy. But we have had a few days at home too, just playing. Yesterday we played football and baseball in the tennis court, and the kids made pizza for lunch.

Oh the fucking pain.

We get our internet hours back tommorrow as it's a new month. I apologise to my loyal readers for the utter slackness in my commenting but with this computer so slow it's almost painful trying to read blogs and comment. And I miss catching up with you guys so I am going to get stuck into your blogs post haste...

I haven't even been to the dentist yet. That is postponed to October sometime. I better not cancel again. I'm running out of excuses.

Well, gotta go and numb the pain.....or open a bottle as they say.

Writers Workshop

I finally get to Mama Kats Writers Workshop. I'm a bit late this week, but I really wanted to do this one.

1) If you could travel to anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

This is such a no brainer for me and I am so excited to write about it. I want to go to America. AGAIN. You see, I had one of the best times of my life, when I toured the USA 13 years ago. Besides the birth of my kids and my wedding day, this holiday is up there with the best.

I had always been fascinated with America. You see, here in Australia we see alot of movies and tv shows from there and I thought to myself "I wonder if America is really like this". Is there really a Melrose Place, does crime really happen in the suburbs? But that's not the only thing I was interested in. I wanted to see the cities, the towns, meet the people, see the big things and ride Route 66. I wanted it all.

I booked my trip 12 months in advance. And I was going alone. The Hubbster didn't want to go and I was not missing this opportunity as we were not yet married with kids. I saved, I worked two jobs, and studied the holiday brochures for a year. The time came and I nearly didn't go. The Hubbster drove me to the airport and I had a choice to turn around and go home again, or walk through the door alone on a big adventure, not knowing what was in store for me, and as an unseasoned traveller, I was terrified. The bravado I had showed when I booked the trip was no where to be seen.

I did walk through the door and I can still to this day remember how nervous but amazingly excited I felt. I immediately met a girl who I was to room in with on the tour we were doing, and when we arrived in LA we met 4 guys from Sydney who were also doing the tour. So I was not going to be alone.

I had the best time of my life. I loved it all. I did a bus tour seeing the touristy things crossing the country from west to east. I then met a friend who I had been writing to for the past 12 months and she took me in and showed me the "real America". She lived in Missouri. We drove to Tennessee and I met her sister and I still write to them.

I am so glad I saw two sides of this country. The touristy must sees and the real people. Who were, might I say, quite fascinated with me as my accent was surprising to some.

America did not disapoint. I want to visit again. It will be later rather than sooner, but that's okay. I have to go back and see more and probably visit the places I saw before, with kids in tow perhaps. I don't care, the USA is calling me.

And I did get to ride Route 66, something my 6 year old son is shocked about, because apparently route 66 only appears in the movie Cars...

Mystery of Life

I went out the other day for a couple of hours to do some stuff sans kids and I left The Hubbster in charge. When I returned, he had put together our new wardrobe and completely rearranged the bedroom.....moving our king sized bed to another area and replacing it with two wardrobes. All on crutches.

The place was in disarray....and later on I discovered that my shed shoes....and the tin of chocolate milo were missing. How these two things are related is beyond me but I still can't find my shoes and the bed is better in the new position.

Kind of reminds me of the time I went out for ONE HOUR and came home to find a path of destruction leading from the front door of our previous house through to the back. Toys, crap and debris (some of which I was not even familiar with) was strewn around. What I am saying is, The Hubbster is such a male. And I love him for that.

Spam spam go away

I woke this morning excited to check out my blog and my comments (I know we all do this!) and I was happy to see lots of new comments listed in my email from a new user. I was happy for about 10 seconds when I realised they were spam. Nasty smelly spam.

So I have spent good blogging time removing all this crap from my blog. This is why I am nervous about posting personal info and pics to my blog, which pisses me off greatly as I hate feeling this way.

I have also been receiving suspect friend requests on msn, that is linked to my email address, so as of today I have changed that address and I have added a "comments will be posted after owners approval" or something similiar to my blog, as this has put the spook into me.

So to all my wonderful bloggy friends, please keep commenting and know how much I appreciate you following my blog, but it's the douchebags like this one today that has forced me to take action.

One last thing, in the blog settings, do you guys allow comments from anyone (including anonymous) or registered users, or google accounts only or blog followers? I am very interested in what you do with this setting. Love you guys!!

Exterior and interior frames are up

I've been a slacker bloggy buddy this week, in fact it's been a week since my last post...I have so much to say and so little time in which to say it. You see, it's school holidays here, and I do love them but I have no time just to sit and blog. But the great things about holidays are no getting up really early, no lunches to forget to buy for, no unwashed school clothes or missing shoes. Just peace and calm. WRONG.

We still have to get up early because the builders arrive by 7am, and it's day one and the kids are fighting....just a little bit, but we are trying to do lots and lots of things with them so they a) don't get bored and b) don't annoy the crap out of the builders.

Today, the kids had two big swims in the pool, one at 7am and one at 4pm. We took them to the park and played basketball, and they watched a dvd in the afternoon. We are going into town tommorrow, to spend Mr C's football voucher at McDonalds and on Thursday, two friends are coming along to the movies, with a grand total of 10 kids altogether. What better way to have chaos than with a friend I always say!

I still haven't been to the dentist, I have an appointment on Wednesday that I think I will cancel....and rebook for the following week. I frickin hate the dentist and I just don't want to go. Stupid tooth.

We had a really busy weekend. Mr C had his football presentation on Saturday, and we stayed until 7pm. The kids had a ball on the rides and we had a bbq dinner. On Sunday, Miss D danced in her first eisteddfod, and I was super proud of her. Her cabaret dance group came second. So we didn't stop all weekend and the next two weeks will be the same.

The house has had so many changes from the last time I blogged. So in 6 days, the deck has been finished, we had a crane and a huge truck in our front yard, which was so exciting! and now the exterior and interior framework is up. The most amazing thing for us is to walk around the house and see each room in all its glory...just like our house plans. We can finally see how the house will look, where each room, cupboard and door will be, and all those months of labouring over each plan change, and each review has been so worth it.

Here are our frames!

Here's the Deck

I had my dentist appointment for my ROOT CANAL treatment tommorrow but I have had to cancel it. Yes I know, I was looking at reasons to cancel because I hate the thought of it...so I decided to get a cold sore instead. From the stress of hating the dentist so much. It's like Root Canal or Cold Sore.....let me think which do I prefer?????

We went on a kindy excursion today to the post office and the fire station, where the kids posted a letter to themselves and had a go at using the fire hose. They are having a teddy bears picnic and tuckshop later in the day...life's a beach at kindy!

Here are the promised pics of the deck that I will oil at some stage. The timber is Queensland Blue Gum, which is a very rich red colour and is just divine....

Blog Fart Friday

* The Hubbster is on crutches thanks to a foot operation he had this week. I now know how to do certain things because either a) he does too much or b) I do too little. I can now change the pool filter, clean and hose out and replace. I can now attach the hose to the pool inlet and vacumn the pool. I can now wrap his leg in a plastic bag for his shower..hang on, I already know how to do that from his two broken legs he suffered years ago.

* Miss D taught her friends a dance routine and they did this at parade at school today. I was so proud of her, and all the girls were awesome. One boy came up to her after the dance and said "your dance was great. You rock". Miss D said "thanks" went red in the face and I stiffled a giggle.

* I went to the dentist today, and it was long overdue. I hate the dentist. Doesn't everyone? I have a tooth that needs attention and I have been putting it off for a long time. Because of this, now I need a root canal. Hip hip, frickin' hurray.

Are there any other words that make you scream like the words "root canal". I'm too scared to even google it. So I am booked in for next week, and I am trying to come up with a reason to reschedule the appointment. I did, however, get a clean and polish, so now my teeth sparkle. Root Canal = can I take my ipod??

* The decking on the house is nearly done. It looks amazing. The builder said that if we put all the timber together in one long length, it would measure around 3 kms. Guess who has to oil the deck? Me.

* I've been thinking about all of my friends in America on this day September 11th. You all know why. And you know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. It had an inpact on all of us in Australia too.
