Dance Festival Update - finally!

I must apologise for the delay in posting about the Dance Festival. Naughty Farmers Wife used all of our fast internet hours, and have you ever tried posting pics with dial up speed??

To fill you in....we had an awesome weekend!!! The Hubbster looked after Mr C and Miss T so Miss D and I could stay at the festival both days....he is going to watch her dance later in the year at the eisteddfod.

My beautiful dancer was awarded with a "Very Highly Commended" for both her classical ballet and her jazz, and we couldn't be happier! This was her first time dancing solo and she was competing against seasoned performers....she smiled, she had a ball and she looked confident and beautiful.

I had this particular feeling in my belly while I watched her on stage...I was humbled, I was proud, I was incredulous that this gorgeous girl was my daughter. I silently followed her routines, with an ache in my heart that only a mother can truly understand. I had to bite my lip to keep my composure.

And the best thing of all was that her hair rocked for her jazz dance...Terminator!! I was so proud of myself for doing so well in that department! And the tutu looked amazing....

Thanks for stopping by :)

If you're going to teach yourself to sew, [and good on you!] can I recommend the best sewing book out there? It is the Reader's Digest Complete Guide to Sewing edition one. From 1976 I think? It is by far the most comprehensive and helpful book out there. For some reason the later editions don't cut it - and the newer sewing referenced lack substance. Anyway, I think EVERYONE should learn to sew, its just like driving a car, you've just got to practice a bit, but I"m biased like that!!

Enjoy your machine, and just like a car, keep it serviced, as well as maintain it every time you use it :)

Well done Miss D, I know just what you mean about biting your lip when your child is performing. So glad she got her certificate and you did an amazing job on the tutu. Have a great Easter
