It's C O L D outside

Winter has arrived in fine form. It was F R E E Z I N G today. And living in a shed only makes me feel colder. We have a warm wood fire which I would die without..but nothing beats the feeling of actually living in a house. Which we hope to get to before the kids leave home.

Actually we are travelling down south in a couple of weeks to visit family and God only knows why we picked the middle of winter to go, as it's icy cold down there and I don't think we have enough winter clothes to go around.

I've been busy with a new (ish) project which I shall be bringing to you shortly..as you can see by the little teaser on the right. Stay tuned...

That's too bad. I hate cold. Hope you find enough winter clothes to go visiting. And good luck with the new project.
Have a good day...:)

It's so strange to me that your seasons are opposite. I just can't get a handle on that.

I know exactly how you feel, we moved to a shed the Adelaide hills in Feb 1988, luckily it was still warm. Our shed had a rough concrete floor which we needed to resurface. The shed had someone living in it before we purchased it, but he had a caravan inside the shed There was a shower and toilet but the walls were constructed of packing case boards and lined with old linoleum, which housed a family of RATS !!! All of this had to be pulled down and re-built. While we were going about this task we washed in a small square tub, sitting in it but feet on the floor, (I can now imagine the laughter!) washing each others backs.
We had slow combustion heater that we brought with us from the previous residence and managed to install that before winter set in. When I look back to that time and think of all the work we put into the shed, visits to demolisher's yards for windows, doors and building materials I think maybe we were MAD. The materials for lining the walls and ceiling also had to be housed in the same shed while we lived there.
I have a husband who would NOT go into debt to build a house and had to wait 14 years before he gave the "go ahead" to start planning a house.
Those were the days !!

Olive that is an amazing story. Isn't it wonderful the things we can do when we have to. Thanks for sharing...

Certainly cold, but sunny, here in Perth. I love winter, but rain rather than freezing days. Still can't complain, I am still alive to feel the cold. And Olive - I can't believe you lived in a shed for 14 years before starting to plan a house. You both are amazing and patient women.

where do you live that you have winter now? Do you live in a parallel universe where up is down and people are not a-hole drivers?
