House Update

Our excellent carpenter has been working weekends, and it's wonderful seeing the progress every Sunday afternoon.

We have doors!!!! Aren't they beautiful!

And we won't be painting the hinges thank you very much!

We have on order lots of house goodies including the skirting boards and architraves, the fretwork for above some doorways, a few ceiling roses and some door handles for the cupboards and the bifold theatre room doors.

This should arrive next week and will give the Carpenter something more to do as he is nearly finished hanging the doors.

We are phoning the Waterproofer to come and do his thing next week so the tiler can start.

The kitchen is being made and we have ordered our tiles.

It's all happening at The Money Pit!

Yay! Things are certainly moving along nicely now!

Is it still on track for a Christmas finish?

Farmers Wifey said...

@ Amy we are hoping so, but we have a delay with our bathroom tiles, which will put the floor polishing behind as well, so I'm not really sure at this stage.

We don't want to move in with work still to be done as we know we won't do it....so we are just going week to week and getting as much done as we can.......xoxo

Looks like you're at a similar stage to the upstairs part of our house. Part of it is exciting, but the inconvenience and waiting is very frustrating! Will all be worth it I am sure.

@ M.....I know what you mean, I've run out of patience - 3 yrs in the shed - and am so ready to move in.

Good to see that you've got doors now. I'm still waiting...or rather the kids, are waiting for their cubby house to be ready. That was a project hubby started a few months ago. And we've still only got 3/4 of the frames up....it'll be a looong wait!

Yay for doors! They're pretty too. Had to laugh at your comment up there to Mum. My teens are great at slamming doors *sigh*

Yay for doors! They are the most beautiful doors I have ever seen.

We have doors almost exactly like that! Nice.

getting there! Do you have a floor polisher, or would you like a quote from one?

@ My Pigeon Pair, the design is lovely isn't it!

@ Tara, the bifolds look amazing!

@ Norlin, I want to see pics of the cubby house to give me ideas!!

@ Tina, as long as they don't slam the glass french doors, eek!!!

@ Foursons, I think so as well!!!!

@ Jodie, thank you..the bifolds and cupboard doors are in now and they have the same profile!!

@ Alannah, we have someone already who did some work for The Hubbsters dad, thanks...I'm not sure when they will be starting though..sigh...how are you anyway??

Glad to hear you have a polisher....looks like a big job. D redid our cypress pine floors in Feb and they look fantastic, and pale again. With this glorious weather, the polish won't take too long to dry for you, which is good. We are all good, only 3 at home now, and this week are all well, although have had our fair share and more of the bugs just like your family. Loving your blog, although just often lurking. I won a sub for Baked and Delicious mag, so will be using the issues as blog fodder, so keep an eye out! smiles.
