I'm on the job.

Here I am hard at work.

I'm not sure why I'm wearing my sunglasses inside, but it seems the thing to do these days.

You see, I actually have a Day Job.

As well as living on the farm, building The Money Pit, kid wrangling three mini me's, and tending to their activities, I go to work.

I work part time as a Property Manager.  Or an Asset Manager.  Or a bringer together of a Landlord, a Property, and a Tenant.

I really love my job.  I've done this work for alot of years.  It wasn't the first career I choose though.  When I left school I worked with children as a child care teacher. I worked in Long Day Care Centres and Pre Schools and I loved it!

I've also worked in motel reception, at the Electoral Commission counting votes, and various other jobs in between.

I was a stay at home mum for 10 years while my babies were at home, which has been my most favourite job of them all.  Mothers Group, mornings in the park, tea parties and afternoon sleeps.

I really miss this. I'll always cherish the time I was at home with them, and I feel very lucky that I was able to do so.  Now I'm a working mother who enjoys adult conversations and I get to slide down carpeted stairs on my butt because it's fun.

I'm joking.

My absolute favourite job was stay-at-home-mum too. My only other jobs have been in factories and now as checkout chook for Coles. I'd rather be home, even without the kids to clean up after. I slid down some stairs once, narrow, steep, slippery, it wasn't fun at all.

Wow! You sure have had a lot of jobs and interesting ones at that. I think it shows how adaptable we are when we can turn our hand to any job. Being a mum does that to you!

That was all very interesting. I was glad to be able to be a stay at home mum way back then when my two were young. Financial stress meant I had to rejoin the workforce but not till they were 10 and 12 so felt I'd been a good mum for them as you were.

Sounds like a great job!!! I am currently a SAHM & love it, although I am looking for some part time work, it appears to be rather difficult to find something family friendly,so I will just keep enjoying my free time while it lasts!!
have a great weekend!

I love this post, learning about the various career paths you have taken. Actually just what a I needed to read right now, as I wonder when and where my next role will be. Maybe I need to just enjoy being a stay-at-home Mum for now though. At times it can be hard wondering if I'll ever fit into the workforce again, feeling like it will all pass me by while I'm out of it.
It's so great you have a job you love xo
