Oranges

Miss T (aged 8) invited me to go exploring with her today.  We have 75 acres, and we've recently discovered a hidden orchard with trees filled with oranges, madarins and mangos!

It was such a beautiful day, and so peaceful just taking our time.  We made our way down to the freshwater creek, with the craggy gumtrees giving way to delicate waterfalls here and there.

The trickling of the water was only surpassed by the narrative of my little companion, who delighted in instructing me where to walk and what to look at!

That is so beautiful. Lovely place for adventures. Great way to escape from all the business and drama of the real world. That's amazing that you found an orchard among all that too. Lol.

What a wonderful idea Miss 8 had! Taking time to view, listen and experience... Your place! The orchard may have been part of a now gone family's farm... Love the country shots & the finds! Denyse

you'll have to get down to the hidden orchard with the whipper snipper and give it some love. How great to find such well established and fruiting trees - bonus for you!

Looks like a great place and the bonus of fresh citrus - I am having a wish I was there moment.

75 acres, what a fabulous backyard!
And a bonus orchard too, just goes to show, fruit trees don't always need all that pampering that nurseries tell us about.

Fresh fruit!!! What a fabulous discovery and what a wonderful idea your little 8 y.o. had on how to spend the day.
I am so envious of your 75 acres; being in the country would be great. We have to stick to suburbia for our medical needs these days so we are stuck on our quarter acre. At least we are still here so shouldn't complain.

Hey lovelies! Yes it was a surprise, once we got the tractor in there and slashed the long grass, there were the fruit trees! And the previous owner has placed wire around them to protect them so he did well xo
