House Update

There has been alot of excitement at The Money Pit this week.

Our water tanks arrived on Monday, along with 3 plumbers and a digger operator!

We now have 4 x 25,000 litre tanks, a septic tank and alot of pipes and cables!

I think I can....I think I can....

Bring on the rainwater!

We also now have the louvres above the internal doors..

They can be left open for beautiful breezes throughout the house, while keeping the doors closed to the rooms of the teenagers to be for privacy!

Our fretwork and ceiling roses have arrived and the tiler starts on Monday.

It's go go go here........

All looks pretty exciting to me, those tanks are seriously impressive... and all that lovely land is too!
The overhead louvres are sensational for circulating air. We have two windows like that in our place and it's amazing how much cooler it is during those hot Summer months as a result :o)

Hey there, yes, that's the reason we went with the louvres....I bet you love them too! And it's a very traditional feature of a Queenslander style house...we were going to go with the fixed breezeway panels, but at least this way, they can be kept open or closed!

I love these updates.
The louvres are a tad clever, aren't they?
I'm going to be mighty disappointed when I realise I'm not actually moving into it when you do!

You must be getting excited as things progress.

Looks like its all coming together Michelle! Those water tanks are huge!! I'm assuming you're not on town water. How does that work? Can you get them filled if it doesn't rain? Love the louvres above the door...that's a fantastic idea!

Ahh... my first thought was why on earth would you have louvres, but yes, air circulation!!
Those tanks are huge... here's wishing you lots of rain to fill them :)

I love the louvers idea too!! Especially for the Queensland heat in summer!! That's about how many tanks we will need when we build too!

Hi ladies, we are on tank water, yes so we love the rain. We can have them filled if we indeed run out of water but with the 4 tanks we are hoping that we don't....

The louvres are essentially for air flow, and for that "little piece of difference"....!

It's getting exciting. I know you've got lots and lots coming up over the coming week, and I look forward to seeing more.

Those water tanks are freaking huge!
