Writers Workshop

Here is my prompt for this weeks Writers Workshop.

3.) Write an open letter to a cartoon character.

Dear Bart Simpson

For some strange reason my 7 year old son reminds me of you. It could be because of the following reasons:-

1. He looks like you.

2. He tears around in a wired, demonic way some of the time. He's very energetic.

3. He teases the bejesus out of his sister...who is smart like Lisa.

4. He enjoys skateboarding (though he doesn't own one because I think it's too dangerous and my boy is too fragile to take to the hospital with a broken anything), and comic books.

5. He hasn't held down any part time jobs like yourself as yet, but I believe he will in due course.

6. He's been know to exclaim: eat my shorts or even ay caramba!

7. Occasionally he prefers to wear no clothes like such:-

8. Like you, he has a good heart, and he adores his family. He can be mischievious, but boy do I love that about him!

You forgot to say he's hilarious! Bart Simpson, naught as he is, is funny as heck. Possibly when your son is running butt naked through the town it may not seem funny at the moment, but it was. To those of us watching, it was. I try to remember that when my sons are doing their Bart-Simpson-Dennis-the-Menace-Eddie-Haskel impressions!

LOL very funny post. Kids often model themselves on their idols, and it seems that cartoon characters are also up there with the rest of them.

Nice to meet you, thanks for reading and commenting. I'm glad I did the Mama Kat's Writing Workshop!

I'm guessing your son is also TONS of fun to be around and always keeps you on your toes. :)

What a cute post. The naked Bart Simpson butt was a perfect touch! lol
I noticed on your sidebar that you're a supporter of breastfeeding. That's awesome!
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog. It's so nice to meet other bloggers. Have a great day.

Keeping the skateboard from "Bart" is horrendous. Besides, if he is anything like my brother and I, he'll just find other ways to break something.

Heck, if he is like our son he'll find ways to break multiple things. (And not tell you about it for a day or two until the pain finally exceeds the desire to not let anyone know what they were doing at the time.)

Good letter!

very cute. It is better than him reminding you of Spongebob. Visiting from Mama Kat's. This is why I have girls only. :0)

I guess it could be worse ... he could've reminded you of Betty Boop, or something like that, right? Bart is very clever and smart ... sure, he doesn't use his intelligence for good all the time, but still.

Love this! I've never been one to watch The Simpson's though. Just caught bits and pieces from time to time.
Stopping by from Mama Kat's!
