In the city a gate is a gate is a gate, no matter how diverse the designs. In the country, gates just seem so much more than an entrance to a yard or property. There seems to be more romance about a country gate.
YES!!!!! I'm so glad you agree..I really want to go next door and ask if I can have that top gate, not sure where I'd put it, hubby might be confused lol
Tried to leave a comment but it didn't work for some reason I only got one picture of a gate and tired to comment on it (we have one here that my mum gave us when she removed her front fence back in about 1965)
Well that one worked so here goes again. We have a gate just like the one in what I think is #1 pic (only one pic showed on here for me) filling a gap in our side fence to stop 'thingies' getting through. It was placed there when stray dogs used to roam the neighbourhood and it's still there somewhere among the ivy that is quite rampant on that fence even though one rarely sees dogs in the street any more. Thanks for sharing.

Love that first gate - two in one! We have some gates with ornate details just in the middle of odd paddocks!
I couldn't believe I found that first one, I just love it!
Love old farm gates- just gorgeous!
Think the first gate is something special - wouldn't mind it at my place.

Mimsie, I love that you have a similiar gate, the most beautiful things are rarely the obvious! xo
