House Update

Watch out! I have myself a kitchen and I'm not afraid to use it!

Actually I don't want to get it dirty. It's too shiny and new!

Here are some before and afters...... complete with timber saw and bench!

I've been asked some questions this week about my kitchen, some of which include:-
"Farmers Wifey, are you going to cook in your kitchen?"
No, it's too shiny and new.

"Farmers Wifey, are you going to let the kids in the kitchen?".
No, it's too shiny and new.

"Farmers Wifey, is The Hubbster allowed in the kitchen?"
Yes, only if he cooks me an omelette.

"Farmers Wifey, how much did your kitchen cost?"
How rude! No comment.

I am in love with our kitchen and so happy with the company we went with. Professional, courteous and on the mark with everything!

We decided on a 2 pac glossy finish in Antique White USA (our absolute favourite colour), with patterned cutouts on the sides to add to the country feel.

The benchtops are a Diamond Gloss Pure Mineralstone, with rolled edges.

The handles are a simple bar design, which we matched with the handles on the pantry doors.

We have soft close drawers, a double sink in the island bench and lovely country style capping along the top of the cupboards.

I wanted some glass shelves too, and chrome downlights on the undersides of the top cupboards, which will look amazing when wired up!

The design is very simple and free flowing, with lots of space besides the cupboards and area where the fridge and oven will sit.

Speaking of which, we really love this and it comes with a matching rangehood!

It's made by Glem and I love that the oven is both gas or electric, so I can choose how I want to cook on the day. I do love gas, however, but it's great having a choice!

Do you like it?

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. I knew you'd say that!

I think after 3 years in the shed, we'll be too scared to actually move into the house just in case we break it :)

Michelle I'm so happy for you. It looks perfect and well thought out. Antique white was a great colour choice. that's what we have on most of the walls in our house. We got a new swishy kitchen nearly three years ago, and we got takeaway on the first night because i didn't want to get it dirty! Enjoy every meal and every minute you spend it there. Jane x

Your kitchen is stunning! But... I do think you will have to let the kids in it, eventually!

Mr E. has oven envy. I think he wants to get our kitchen redone just to fit it in.

Looks awesome. You have great taste! I love handles on the cabinetry.

It's GORGEOUS!!!!

If I had a choice of gas or electric, I'd choose gas for sure. I've cooked with gas all my life and it's so easy to control the temperature, plus hotplates don't take forever to heat up and cool down like electric ones do. I'm kind of sad that in my little flat that I'm now renting I have no choice at all, it's electric. The whole housing complex is electric.

I heart your kitchen! I've wanted that classic country kitchen cabinets, but hubby thought it didn't match our home, so it's the stark white for us.

Ooooh I love it!

My favourite display kitchen at Ikea has glass doors and downlights, and it's so pretty!
Major kitchen envy happening :)

That's lovely. I doubt it'd last 2 minutes in our house however, with 4 dirty working sheep dogs coming and going, not to mention a filthy farmer!

I remember having my kitchen done (it's different shades of browns and autumn colours) and dreading every time the Farmer went in. You'll soon get used to it!
