Take a breath Farmers Wifey

Could my life get much busier? I could always get a full time job and then I'd be completely screwed.

I thought I'd bring you my "two weeks of hell on a stick that I should be enjoying" or "stuff that makes me drink too much wine" just to prove how busy I am.

I'll post in point form and remember people - some on this list I have done, some I have yet to do, and some I have done three times.

I'll date it from last Wed to next Wed which should be two weeks, which sounds like it's only one week but it's really two if you read the fine print...

God give me a steak

I have stitches in one side of my mouth, where they took one tooth out and did a bone graft, in readiness for my bionic tooth implant in several months time. And of course, the other tooth that came out is on the other side of my mouth at the back, so it's a bitch to eat.

Actually my diet over the last few days has consisted of:-

* several panadeine forte tablets
*chocolate mousse
*mashed potato and pumpkin and gravy
*rolled oats and milk
*soup and soggy bread
*chicken (pulled into strips)
*yogurt
* salty mouthwash

I am hanging out for a steak, a wine, or normality, which ever comes first.

Blog Fart Friday/sorry Thursday

Yep. I'm still here. I haven't posted for a week so I'll do a random post to catch up on everything. I love random posts, both writing and reading them!

Our guinea babies are thriving...they have grown bigger even after one week. They are fiesty, and funny - they scramble around chasing each other, fighting over little pieces of grass, and retire underneath their mumma for their sleeptime.

On a sadder note, we lost one baby who failed to thrive. He or she was smaller than the other babies, and didn't eat but tried to keep up with the others. It was so upseting and I did have a cry when he or she died.....I buried this baby under Girlies (our beagle) tree.......

I went to the dentist on Wednesday to have my follow up treatment. You'll remember I had a bitch and a whinge about how much I hate the dentist, and how scared I was about having my two teeth extracted in the chair rather than in hospital. You can read about this here.

So I went in on Wednesday, nervous and scared. I really like this dentist, he made me feel at ease and the kind lady gave me a scented eye patch to wear so I wouldn't have to watch the horror of having my teeth removed.

But the BEST thing of all (and I keep thinking if I had known about this years ago I would be at the dentist every week) was the sedative gas they offer for scared shitless patients like me.

It was a blast, literally. You suck on this plastic contraption and it releases what I can only describe as a numbing, floaty, fucking fantastic sensation type gas that completely relaxes you. It kind of makes you want to giggle or chat up the dentist. Fortunately I only giggled.

My mask fell off at one stage onto the dentists' shoes, which kind of sent me into a cackling spasm...I didn't really have a care in the world. When my first tooth came out, I vaguely remember going "whoo hooo!". Yes pathetic and embarrassing at the same time.

But the procedure was over and out with hardly any trauma to my sanity, because of this wonderful drug. And I am totally pissed off that I wasn't allowed to take the thing home, it was wireless afterall.

Dentist Visit

I have had one of those days today when I have been super excited about something. But to get to this "something" I have had to pay penance first. It's kind of like when you are a child and you can't wait to eat the icecream, but first, you have to eat the brocoli.

The super thing is tonights concert I am going to. And the penance is the dentist. Yes I finally did it. I kept rescheduling my appointment by coming up with the following reasons:-

* hello, I have to reschedule because I have been so stressed about the dentist, that I now have a cold sore.

* hello, my cold sore still hasn't gone, so I will have to reschedule.

* hello, I forgot it was school holidays so I will have to reschedule.

* hello, my husband is working and I need a babysitter, so i will have to reschedule.

* hello, there was an earthquake in Vanuatu, and we are now expecting a Tsunami, so I will have to reschedule.

So today there was no holiday, or cold sore, or Tsunami and I had a babysitter so I went to the appointment. And I have a new dentist and he is awesome and the visit was not so bad afterall.

Instead of the dreaded root canal *shudder* treatment I was going to have, I am now having my problem tooth extracted *fucking shudder* and a tooth implant put in.

So does this mean I will have a bionic tooth able to chew through the toughest of steaks? Noooooooo, but at least I won't have a gap in my palate. It's actually a top tooth along the side, and when I smile you can just see it but as I am kind of vain and don't want a gappy smile, I am having an implant.

Apparently they are all the rage. So my next big issue was whether to have it pulled out in the dentist chair or in hospital. Local or general anesthetic? I had a horrific tooth extraction experience with my wisdom teeth that I just DO NOT WANT TO REVISIT.

I had the bottom two out in hospital, but the first one was extracted in the dentist chair, and I will never forget it. The lovely but possibly psychotic nurse held my head while the dentist pulled my tooth out, not unlike a scene from the movie "Saw".

So you can see my hesitation. But I have decided to brave it and just have it out with the dentist. And if he hurts me, I may well have it out with him for real.

Apparently as well as having the usual local needle to numb my mouth, I can have the laughing gas, so I shouldn't have a care in the world. Great. It sounds like a party.
